and it will be

On soft Spring nights I’ll stand in the yard under the stars - Something good will come out of all things yet - And it will be golden and eternal just like that - There’s no need to say another word. - Jack Kerauac, Big Sur.

one of my favorite quotes. happy weekend, everyone!

snow whites

ps - hi guys! are you enjoying these new layout diddies? they make me happy to make, and they definitely make me very happy to look at. i hope you are just as inspired! see some others here, here, and here. feedback always always welcome. peace n love.

dress up for days

australian label dress up... oh man. way, way wayyyy adorable. get a load of these! i mean, flatforms with pants is not, you know, STOP THE PRESSES! new, but oh! it sure looks it. maybe it's the divine cut of all of these pieces. give me those mustard palm-printed trousers now, i say. they are perfect. and the bottom left look is making my 80s/90s mom style crush thing flare up again. thanks to miss moss for being a total treasure-finder, as always.

buffalo plaid

it turns out that fall in southern california is pretty epically beautiful. no surprise there. perfect weather for comfortable layers and all of that good stuff. happy thanksgiving, errybody!

winter sea foam

this is a palette i am really loving lately. minty green, white, light grey and chestnut hues in the winter, talk about a breath of fresh air! (the stupid-amounts shiny blonde fringe doesn't hurt the cause...)

marble art

first ogled savannah college of art grad patricia garcia's marbled, marvelous spring creations in nylon magazine this september. couldn't take my eyes off of the kooky colors and and cuts. according to this interview, she was inspired by the work of vincent van gogh, and a reclusive impressionist art collector and heiress named huguette clark. dreamy.

shiny shiny

just a mini holiday jewelry gift-guide. because who wouldn't be all sorts of pleased to unwrap a lil tiny package to find one of these babes sitting pretty inside? HI! browse a whole landslide of other options over on my pinterest!

stumbled upon this amazing la-based label wrk-shop via coolhunting and instantly fell in love with the mildly structural tilt of the clothing and the relaxed feel and styling of the spring 2013 collection. turns out, designer Airi Isoda was inspired by the case study houses built in southern california in the 1950s (pretty much my favorite decade of building - love!). i can see it. lots of sweetly simple separates in a clean, sprightly palette of color and texture, and yes, that is the Los Angeles skyline, as photographed by the designer's husband (and design partner), Ryan Upton, from atop Griffith Observatory, gracing shirt collars and shorts hems. awesome. sidenote: love the first photo's setting in lacma's breezeway and the cool dipped pouches. wrk-it.

plush, pastel wintery vibes are making me happy and cuddly-feeling today. guys, i never knew how much i liked the color lilac until i saw this second photo here.

beautiful beautiful. i would so love to visit the totokaelo store in seattle. the website is lovely, but being that i cannot afford a thing, the store might be more fulfilling. sometimes it's just nice to be in the presence of such loveliness, no? and, for fans, they just launched an art + object offshoot website! ta-da! cue maaaaaajor sigh-age.

kamm spring

la-based jesse kamm is kind of a dreamboat - she is a photographer and a model and a designer to boot. this recent collection for spring 2013 is everything i want in my closet since becoming an angeleno of sorts. easy, floaty pieces that feel put-together and classy and all kinds of relaxed at the same damn time.
